ISTIQFAR & ZIKIR 1.0

Dear blessed friends,

Istighfar is often interpreted by the mercy of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala for sin or mistake. Usually if a person commits an offense and then regrets his deeds, then a sincere sincerity with sincere repentance will be pronounced in the hope that sin or guilt will be forgiven by Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala.



If seen in the sense of istighfar, there is no difference between istighfar and repentance. From one angle, istighfar and repentance have the same meaning ie return to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. Both have similarities in the application to remove what is not supposed to be (sin).



The essence of istighfar in Islam is to subdue soul, heart and mind to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala while begging for the forgiveness of all sins. Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala instructs His servants to behave as He says in the Qur'an:



"And seek forgiveness of Allah, for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful" (Surah an-Nisaa: 106)



In another verse, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala says: "And seek forgiveness for your sin, and celebrate the praises of thy Lord in the morning and evening."

(Surah al-Mukmin: 55)



Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala also advised His servants to always be self-righteous not only for themselves but also for believers, men and women. The Word of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala:



"And ask for forgiveness for the wrong that you do, and for the sins of the believers (men and women)." (Surah Muhammad: 19)



Although istighfar is circumcision, but the command of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala in the above verses shows the assertion that istighfar is an undeniable religious claim. It is therefore an obligation for the Muslims to always engage not only as a requirement to be fulfilled, but also to seize the fadhilat istighfar as mentioned in the Qur'an and the traditions of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wassalam.
